confirming a claim ✅
Once claims have been submitted, it's up to the bounty creator to decide which one best fulfills the bounty.
Confirming a claim is one of the most important actions on poidh.
It's also one of the most permanent.
Take your time, review every submission carefully, and make sure you're confident before moving forward.
review every claim
Before selecting a winner, review all submitted claims.
Ask yourself:
- Did this claim complete the outcome I requested?
- Does it satisfy every requirement in the bounty?
- Is the evidence convincing?
- If multiple claims qualify, which one best fulfills the spirit of the bounty?
Remember that participants invested their own time and effort into these submissions.
It's worth giving every claim a fair review before making your decision.
pro-tip 🕹️
Clicking a claim image allows you to expand all claim info, zoom in on the pic, view the claimant's poidh score, share a claim, or ban it (hide it from the page).
poidh awards one winner per bounty
Each bounty has one winning claim.
There are no custom payout splits or percentage allocations built into the protocol.
When you confirm a winner, the entire bounty reward goes to that claim.
If you'd like to reward other participants for excellent work, you're always free to do so outside the protocol.
Every claim contains the claimant's wallet address, and you can copy it directly from the claim by clicking the copy icon within the claim card.
Many bounty creators choose to send small thank-you payments or consolation prizes to runners-up whose work they appreciated.
Those payments happen independently of the bounty itself.
choose the claim that best fulfills the bounty
Your job isn't necessarily to choose the claim you personally like the most.
Your responsibility is to determine which submission best fulfills the bounty as it was written.
The strongest winning claims are usually the ones that:
- Complete the requested outcome
- Meet every stated requirement
- Provide clear, organized evidence
- Leave little room for ambiguity
If you're unsure between two submissions, ask yourself:
Which claim would I point to as the definitive completion of this bounty?
confirming a winner is permanent
Before confirming a claim, understand that this action cannot be undone.
Once you nominate a claim as the winner, there is no way to withdraw that nomination or choose a different claim later.
If you are selecting a winner as the sole bounty contributor, you will click the "accept" button in the top left corner of the claim card. This will bring up the final confirmation screen. Clicking "accept claim" and confirming the transaction will finalize the bounty.
If your bounty has multiple contributors, you will click the "propose winner" button in the top left corner of the claim card.
This will bring up the final confirmation screen before submitting the claim for vote.
Clicking "submit claim" and confirming the transaction will officially start the 48-hour onchain vote.
take your time before confirming
Double-check the evidence.
Review the requirements again.
Make sure you've looked through every submitted claim.
Once you move forward, the process is permanent.
solo bounties settle immediately
If your bounty is a solo bounty, confirming a winner immediately completes the bounty.
The full reward is transferred to the winning claimant's wallet.
There is no additional review step. Once this happens, the bounty is complete and the funds cannot be recalled through the protocol.
open bounties enter the approval process
If your bounty has additional contributors, confirming a winner doesn't immediately transfer the funds.
Instead, your selected claim is nominated for approval by the bounty's contributors.
This is the final step before the reward is distributed.
Contributors vote on whether the nominated claim should receive the bounty.
If the required approval is reached, the funds are released to the claimant.
nominations are permanent
Just like confirming a winner, nominating a claim cannot be undone.
Once you've nominated a claim, you can't change your mind and nominate a different submission.
This is especially important if you control most of the bounty's funding.
If you're the majority contributor, your vote may be enough to guarantee that the nominated claim is ultimately approved once the voting period ends.
That means your nomination effectively determines the outcome of the bounty.
Don't treat nomination as a "draft."
Treat it as your final decision. There is no "undo" button.
communicate with contributors
You're not required to discuss your decision with other contributors before nominating a claim.
The protocol intentionally leaves that decision to the bounty creator.
However, when a bounty has multiple funders, it's often a good idea to communicate first.
A quick conversation can help answer questions like:
- Does everyone agree this is the strongest claim?
- Did anyone notice something I missed?
- Are there concerns about the evidence?
Doing this can help avoid an awkward situation where you nominate a claim only for contributors to reject it during the approval process.
You don't need consensus before nominating.
But good communication often leads to smoother outcomes.
before you confirm
Before choosing a winner ask yourself:
Have I reviewed every claim?
Does this claim satisfy everything I asked for?
Am I comfortable making this my final decision?
If this is an open bounty, have I considered discussing the decision with other contributors first?
If the answer to all of those questions is yes, you're ready to move forward.
confirmation completes the coordination
Creating a bounty begins the coordination process.
Submitting claims demonstrates possible solutions.
Confirming a winner identifies the submission that best fulfilled the requested outcome.
Because this decision is permanent, it's worth making carefully.
Review the evidence.
Reward the best work.
Then let the protocol handle the rest.
